Eric Otto Nienass Jr

Eric O. Nienass Jr., 79, of Oshkosh, passed away on Monday January 8, 2024 at Park View Health Center. He was born on April 16,1944 in Milwaukee the son of Eric and Lillian Ascher Nienass Sr. On January 14, 1984 he married Erlinda Andam in the Roman Catholic Church in Manila, Philippines and they enjoyed almost 40 years of marriage

Eric was raised in Milwaukee and received an associate degree in General Education from Milwaukee Institute of Technology. He worked for Scott Paper Company in Milwaukee for 20 years until the company closed, then was transferred to Hoffmaster, working as an engraver, for 10 years until retirement. In 1999 Eric and Erlinda moved to Florida and returned to Oshkosh in 2015 as they felt it was where they wanted to spend the rest of their lives. Eric was a life long learner and was always looking to gain knowledge of a skill. In June of 1970 he did a solo flight and he received his flight certificate. His academic knowledge led him to volunteer one day a week tutoring college algebra and trigonometry to undergrad students at UW-Oshkosh. He found great solace in art and writing and was a member of the Oshkosh Fine Arts Association as well as the Oshkosh Area Writers Club. His pursuit and enjoyment of the little things in life whether it be nature or life led him to many travels and discoveries with Erlinda after retirement.

He is survived by his wife Erlinda, one son William(Cassie), one daughter Sherri(Andrew) Littlefield, one sister Ruth Simon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Al Simon

Funeral services will be held on Friday January 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Greg Koepsell officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
