Ervin R. Nemitz , 71, of Van Dyne passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Aurora Medical Center during the early morning hours after a brave battle with Lymphoma. He was born on November 30, 1940 to Albert and Lilly (Henke) Nemitz in the town of Eldorado. He started farming after the death of his father and eventually married the love of his life, Carla Wood on January 23, 1965. Together they farmed with his brothers and their families. While farming, Erv and Carla decided to have a family and raise their children on the home farm. After the loss of the farm, Erv worked with Auction Associates of Ripon. He enjoyed setting up auctions, fixing equipment, and meeting new people. Erv was known for his farming within the Van Dyne area, employment by Auction Associates of Ripon, and a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Nekimi. He enjoyed polka music and playing with his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife, Carla (Wood) Nemitz, and their four children, Cindy Nemitz of Oshkosh, Mark (Brenda) Nemitz of Van Dyne, Shari (Kevin) Graffunder of Prairie du Sac, Janice Nemitz of Baraboo. He also has four grandchildren, Clay Weston, Tyler James, Elizabeth Mae Nemitz and Zachary VandeKolk. He is also survived by his sisters; Marian Kuharski of Ripon, Marge (Albert Jr.) Ewald of Berlin, Eileen Defferding of Winneconne, JoAnn Nemitz of Menasha and his brothers; Edmund Nemitz of Van Dyne and Ronald (Judith) Nemitz of Oshkosh; a sister-in-law, Maxine (Ken) Merk; and brothers-in-law, George (Irene) Wood and Roderick (Beverly) Wood. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and special family friend, Sylvester Wargula of Ripon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lilly (Henke) Nemitz, sister, Bernice Orvis, brothers - in - law; Sid Kurharski, Earl Defferding, and Roger Orvis; a sister-in-law, Beverly Nemitz. He was also preceded in death by his in - laws, Walter and Viola (Turner) Wood and sister - in - law Shirley Radloff.The remembrance service will be held at St. Johns Lutheran Church - Nekimi (491 Old Oregon Rd) on June 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Rev. James Reiff officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Ellenwood Cemetery, Oshkosh. The family would like to extend a special thank you to doctors and nurses at Aurora Medical Center especially the Intensive Care Unit and 2 West. We would also like to thank Dr. Dar and his staff at Vince Lombardi for their kind and generous care throughout his illness.
