Esther Madeline Garbrecht

Midge (Esther) Garbrecht, 94, of Oshkosh, died on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Midge was born on September 12, 1917 in Marinette the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth VanDornick Queever. She married Donald M Garbrecht on July 30, 1941 in Oshkosh. Donald preceded her in death on May 21, 1986. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1939 and was a nurse at Mercy Hospital. She retired as Director of Nursing from Oshkosh Care Center.She possessed an amazing spirit and zest for life and was surrounded by friends of all ages throughout her life. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Sheehan of Phoenix, AZ; her daughter-in-law, Marcia Garbrecht of Winter Haven, FL; three grandchildren, Alan, Amy, and Bart; four great grandchildren, Mason, Carson, Austen, Leila.Midge was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and her son, Gary Garbrecht.A celebration of Midges life will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 2:30 PM at Bella Vista (631 Hazel St) with Chaplin Ken Hinz officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit at Bella Vista starting at 2:00 PM on Thursday.Memorial donations can be directed to the Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
