Eugene Elwood Rusch

Eugene E. Rusch Sr. 68, of Oshkosh passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center.He was born on September 11, 1939 in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin the son of Elmer and Verna Haese Rusch. Eugene married Betty Jane Sturtz on November 25, 1961 in Fond du Lac. Betty preceded him in death on May 10, 2007.Eugene was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. He farmed for many years in the Valders and Eureka areas and then worked at Fox Valley Iron. Eugene enjoyed working with antique farm equipment and was a member of the R. S. Vintage Steel Antique Tractor Club, Calumetville. He liked camping, and loved his cat, Miracle and spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren.He is survived by his children, Shirley Hyde of Oshkosh, Patty (Dean) Eichhorst of Neenah, Penny (Kenneth) Rock of Janesville, Eugene (Linda) Rusch Jr., of Oshkosh, Marlan (Lisa) Rusch of Berlin, Eileen (Clifford) Hunke of Kaukauna, Timothy (Kari) Rusch of Oshkosh, one sister, Jeanette (Wyman) Boettcher of Athelstane; sister-in-law, Bonny (David) Zarbock of Fond du Lac; brother-in-law, Dale (Nancy) Zimmerman of Kiel; grandchildren, Christopher, Adam, Anthony, Jenilee (Ben), Cody, Phillip, Stephanie, Zachery, Hunter, Jacob, Dean, Daryl; and many other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; sister, Carol Jane Zimmerman; son-in-law, David Hyde and an infant brother.The funeral service will be on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 6:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 338 N. Eagle St, Oshkosh with the Rev. Chad Graham officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Thursday from 3:30 PM to the time of service. Burial will be in United Brethren Cemetery, Town of Rantoul, Calumet County.A memorial will be established in Eugenes name.The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the caregivers of Aurora Palliative Care and the doctors and nurses of Mercy Medical Center for their compassionate care.
