Eugene H. Hintze, 79, passed away on Wednesday, June 03, 2009. Eugene was born in Oshkosh on August 20, 1929 in Oshkosh a son of Walter and Cecelia Montabon Hintze. He married Joyce A Gumz on January 31, 1953.Eugene was a member of St. Jude the Apostle and was a Designer/Planner for Fire Protection Security Systems, Inc. He was a Mercy Medical Center Volunteer, loved woodworking, watching golf and football, camping and traveling with Joyce. Eugene had served his country for 28 years in the US Navy both in the Reserves and in Active Duty.Survivors include his wife Joyce of Oshkosh; six sons, Michael (Pamela) Hintze, Paul (Marla) Hintze, Matthew (Cheryl) Hintze, Peter (Shelly) Hintze, Benjamin (Carrie) Hintze and Andrew Hintze; four daughters, Rachel (Gerald) Mahun, Julia Wahlberg, Jennifer (James) Baerwald and Ann (Timothy) Snyder; three brothers, Neil Hintze, Keith Hintze and Dennis Hintze; four sisters, Eileen Bronson, Joanne Schlichting, Judy (James) Wollangk and Susan Ludwig; two brothers-in-law, Harland (Marian) Gumz and Lowell Steinhilber; five sisters-in-law, Shirley Fetter, Donna (Richard) Miller, Clara Gumz, Mary Hintze and Carol Hintze; numerous grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Cecelia Montabon (Hintze); two brothers, Gerald and Milton Hintze; one sister, Glorianne Mattison; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Steinhilber and a grandson Ryan Hintze.Services for Eugene will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home ? Westside with the Rev. Bill Van De Kreeke officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 AM until the service. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. Memorials in Eugenes name to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
