Eunice "Babe" Mildred Bartels

Eunice “Babe” Bartels, age 87 of Oshkosh, passed away on April 21, 2017 at Westbrooke Manor with her family by her side. She was born in Sturgeon Bay, on July 16, 1929, the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth (Poppy) Krause. Eunice was united in marriage to Donald Bartels on February 27, 1948 in Oshkosh and their marriage was blessed with 3 children. She was a long distance phone operator for over 25 years with AT&T. Eunice enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing, being a part of the Sturgeon Patrol with Don, spending time with family and going to the grandkids sporting events.
Eunice is survived by two daughters: Carolyn Michels and Judy (Fran) Milligan; one son, Steve (Karen) Bartels, eight grandchildren: Michelle (Justin) Cali, Chad (Laura Michels, Lisa (Scott) DeGroot, Lori (Mike) VanGompel, Carra (Steve) Janssen, Miranda (Mike) Raivala, Mirissa Milligan and Ashley Hirte; 15 great-grandchildren, one sister, Enid Schrader and one sister-in-law, Arlene Barthels. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don in 2009, brother, Clarence (Rosey) Krause, sister, Elaine Waters, three brothers and sisters-in-law: Melvin “Skip” Barthels, Raymond (Susie) Bartels and Eugene “Nudge” (Deloris) Bartels and Joan Barthels.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, with Pastor Tim Greenwald officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Private burial will take place at Ellenwood Cemetery, Oshkosh. A memorial is being established with Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Westbrooke Manor Staff, Affinity Hospice Staff and special friend, Wally Clark for all their care compassion and support that was given to Eunice. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
