Evelyn Esther Hunter

June 4, 1925 — September 11, 2011

Evelyn E. Hunter, 86, of Oshkosh, died peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Evergreen Retirement Community. She was born on June 4, 1925 in Wautoma the daughter of Edward and Adeline Weiland Meyer. Evelyn married Lawrence W. Hunter on October 14, 1944 in Wautoma. Lawrence preceded her in death in 2000. Evelyn farmed side by side with her husband in the Town of Utica. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Pickett and was a member of the Ladies Aid at church. She did seasonal work at Miles-Kimball Co. and Wisconsin State canners for many years. Survivors include her sons, Edward (Cynthia) Hunter of Pickett, Jack (Pamela) Hunter of Lakeville, MN, Charles (Debbie Gantner) Hunter of Oshkosh, Bruce (Wendy) Hunter of Bayou Vista, TX; one brother, Herbert Meyer of Berlin; grandchildren, Kevin (Lisa) Hunter, Kelly Hielke, Jill Nigl, Bradley (Cindy) Hunter, Michael (Jessica) Hunter, Lissa (Brian) Golanowski, David Hunter, Andrew (Andrea) Hunter, Melissa (Eddy) Hovorka, Timothy Hunter; great grandchildren, Ashley (Drew) Hacker, Kayla (Zachary) Clemons, David and Dylan Hielke, Mitchell and Alec Hunter, Tyler and Zachary Nigl, Marinna and Grace Hunter, Ben, Sophia and Violet Hunter, Maya and Jake Hunter, and Hunter and Bryce Hovorka; and two great great grandchildren, Sydnie Clemons and Reece Hacker. In addition to her husband, Lawrence, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, and six sisters. The funeral Service will be on Friday, September, 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church (County Rd. M, Pickett) with the Rev. Jud Krohn officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Evelyn will be laid to rest at Liberty Prairie Cemetery, Pickett. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established. Evelyns family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Retirement Community, (Creek View South) for the wonderful care that she received from them.
