Forrest Glenn Postl, 92, of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017. Forrest was born on March 8, 1924 to the late Frank and Esther (Barthels) Postl. He married Arlene Cholewinski on January 14, 1950 and their marriage was blessed with three children. Forrest was a United States Army veteran having served in WWII. After his service, Forrest worked as a custodian for Oshkosh area schools. In his free time he enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and doing small projects such as ceramics with his wife Arlene. He was a racing and Packer fan and also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Forrest is survived by his two sons: Eric (Dorothy) and Keith Postl; grandson: Dylan Postl (special friend Mikaela); great-grandson: Landon Postl; step-grandchildren: Tim (Julia) and Ben (Laura) VanOudenhoven. Forrest is further survived by sisters-in-law: Gertrude Postl and Sue Cholewinski, and brother-in-law: Wayne Reese.Forrest was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; his son; Mark Postl; brothers: Douglas and Palmer (Doris) Postl; sister: Donna (Lester) Fabisch.A funeral service for Forrest will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes - Westside (100 Lake Pointe Drive) on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Ralph Hanusa officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.A special thanks to the caregivers at Lakeshore Manor for their care and compassion.
