Francis Robert Bauer

Francis Robert Bob Bauer, age 81 of Oshkosh, died Wednesday March 4, 2009 at Aurora Medical Center. The son of Frank and Josephine Baier Bauer, he was born in Oshkosh on May 15, 1927. On July 8, 1950 he married Joyce Virginia Wolfgram. Bob served in the Merchant Marine. He worked as a meatcutter for many years in the Milwaukee area, where he and Joyce raised their children. Later, upon returning to Oshkosh, he was employed by Arrowhead Conveyor Company. He enjoyed building, carpentry, and electronics. Bob was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Bauer of Oshkosh; a son, David Bauer of Menomonee Falls, WI; two daughters, Ruth (Larry) Caves of Wild Rose, WI, and Laura (Dennis) Shook of Kenosha, WI; grandchildren Stephan (Shannon) Caves, Andrew (Shawn) Caves, Courtney (Kevin) Kihslinger, Julia Shook, and Dennis Shook Jr.; and great grandchildren Elijah, Grace and Aubrey Caves. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gerald Bauer and his sister Mary Owens.Private family services will be held. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
