Frederick I. Ferrara

Frederick I. Fred Ferrara, 52, of Oshkosh died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at his home. He was born on November 7, 1954 in Hammond Indiana the son of Fred and Emily (Lamacki) Ferrara. In his life, Fred had many accomplishments. One being that he served his country in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, he returned to his hometown of Wautoma to run the family restaurant. While running that business he met the love of his life Cheryl Schultz. With Freds fantastic personality he soon won her over. They were married on November 6, 1982 in Mt. Morris. After the marriage they moved from Wautoma to Oshkosh, where Fred started working for Bemis of Oshkosh. He did not miss a day of work at Bemis in over 24 years. Fred was a lifetime member of the V. F. W. Post 1908 and former member of the Fox Valley Vietnam Veterans. Fred enjoyed playing softball and bowling on Bemis teams. Always a sports fan, he enjoyed watching Packer, Brewer, Cub, and Bear games. He could often be found with a large group of friends cheering on the team of the moment. Another of Freds loves was his Harley. He rode with several groups for years enjoying friendship and good times. He and his partner Cheryl would just take off on a nice day for a little ride. In his life, Fred touched many lives, usually leaving a lasting impression. His many friends, family, and co-workers will miss him very much. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl of Oshkosh; mother, Emily Ferrara of Scottsdale, AZ; two sisters, Linda (Terry) Gaatz of Wautoma, Elizabeth Ferrara of Waupaca; mother and father-in law, Beverly and Jack Schultz of Wautoma; brother-in-law, Scott (Beverly) Schultz of Appleton; nieces and nephews Nichole and Nicholes Weiss, Steven Zebraitis, Jason, Jeremy and Josh Gaatz, Angie Coulthard, Christina and Mathew Schultz and special friend, Tayler. His father, Fred, preceded him in death. The funeral service will be on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at 4:00 PM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside). Visistation will be held on Sunday at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service.
