Gail E. Steinert, age 63, of Oshkosh passed away Monday afternoon, February 26, 2007 at home surrounded by her family after a bravely fought, year long battle with cancer. She was born March 26, 1943 in Oshkosh to Harley and Betty (Reischl) Holsworth. Gail married Edward Steinert Jr., her childhood sweetheart on October 7, 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church. They were soul mates who shared the joys of this life; always together.Gail graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1961, and thereafter held numerous jobs throughout her life. She worked many years as a secretary for her husbands electrical contracting business, Eds Electric, and also for Wesley Heating and Cooling, among many other endeavors. For the last 18 years, she had worked in the offices of Oshkosh West High School and mostly at Perry Tipler Middle School. She found great fulfillment and happiness working with students and staff as it allowed her to pursue her greatest pleasure: helping others. Her deepest passion in life was in raising her family and loving her six grandchildren. Her family will deeply miss her presence, but will carry with them her undying and unconditional love.Gail is survived by her devoted husband, Ed; two sons, Bill (Carol Bowman) and Tony (Chrissy Stenzel) of Oshkosh; six loving grandchildren: Steven, Nathan, Andrew, Melanie, Kimberly, and Carly Steinert, all of Oshkosh; and loving nieces and nephews; especially Jock and Karol Holsworth and their four children who were very dear to her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents and by one brother John W. Jack Holsworth.Gail was a vital member of Zion Lutheran Church in countless ways; her most loved being a member of the Zion Choir. She found delight in music, and even more, she cherished the love of her friends in the choir.Through her church, Gail traveled to Muskrat Dam, Canada, and island of 300 people where she taught Bible School, and worked with young children for five consecutive summers. Her time spent there gave her some of the most rewarding times of her life, and she was dedicated to her cause there; heart and soul.During the last number of years, Gail and Ed enjoyed traveling throughout the country, soaking-up all of lifes goodness with their life-long friends, producing wonderful memories and experiences that will transcend her short time here. Her final journey of this last year took her into the arms of Jesus, where she is comforted and renewed. Her family waits with the joy filled faith that in eternity, God will bring them together again.Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 1, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 400 N.
