Gail M. Perschbacher, 88, of Oshkosh, passed away on July 13th, 2024 at Bethel Home.
Gail was born on November 15, 1935 in Oshkosh, WI, the oldest child of Sylvester and Lorna (Zemke) Propson. She graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1953 and married the late Gerald M. Perschbacher in 1963.
Gail enjoyed participating in community organizations, spending many years with the Oshkosh Junior Women’s Club (including as a Past President) and volunteered for 22 years at the Grand Opera House. She also looked forward to luncheons with the Osh Posh Red Peppers chapter of the Red Hat Society, of which she was a charter member. Her passions included sewing, reading mystery novels and working on the house. When not volunteering or sewing, Gail loved to spend time with her family and cats. She was also a caring supporter of the Oshkosh Area Humane Society and the Neenah Animal Shelter.
In her earlier years, Gail taught dance before attending Milwaukee’s Prospect Hall Secretarial School and starting work in the accounting area. Gail met her husband, Jerry, while working at Propson’s Pharmacy, where Jerry was a pharmacist. After settling in Oshkosh, she attended UW-Oshkosh and during her studies was inducted into Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology. Later Gail also became interested in law and attended Mallinckrodt College to become a paralegal.
Predeceased by her parents, her husband and her brother Richard, Gail’s memory is honored by her daughter Diane (Rory Williams) Perschbacher, sister-in-law Gloria Propson, and many great aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday September 11, 2024 at the Grand Opera House from 3-6 p.m. Entombment has taken place at Lake View Memorial Park.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions can be made in Gail’s name to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff at Aurora Medical Center for their care of Gail over many years as well as Advocap and Moments Hospice.
