George N Singstock

George N. Singstock (age 75) passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on July 22, 2011. He was born on May 6, 1936 in Oshkosh-Nordheim, WI. His biological parents were Ida Getchel Doemel and Norman Martin. His mother and stepfathers Harold Singstock and Russell Doemel raised him.He graduated from Oshkosh High school in 1954 and served in the USMC as Lance Corporal. He married Donna (Embs) Singstock on April 11, 1959 at St. Peters Catholic Church. Surviving is his wife Donna, four children and eight grandchildren, Diane (John Casper) Oshkosh, their two children J.T. and Erica, Steven Singstock, Neenah, Jeffrey (Deanna) Singstock, Oshkosh, their four children, Lauren and Bryce, Jackie and Jenna Noffke, Kathy (Chris Schricker), Waupaca, their two children Chase and Cydney. Also surviving are five brothers, Harold (Helen) Singstock, Bruce (Barb) Singstock, Rusty (Cathy) Doemel, Jim Doemel, Bill Doemel, four sisters Judy Doemel, Peg Robbins, Renae (Fred) Stieg and Sharon (Dennis) Schneider. In addition, surviving are sisters-in-law Barb (Duane) Delveau, Mary Ellen Kloiber, Kathy (Gene) Kubasta, brothers-in-law John (Nancy) Embs, Mike (Debbie) Embs and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and brother-in-law Duane DelveauGeorge started working at age 10 in farming, at age 15 he worked as a typesetter at Castle-Pierce Printing Co. until he started his own business, Wisconsin Typographers. He later sold the business to his employees and started AAA Invesco, CEO/President. He also created Execu-Travel in Oshkosh serving as CEO. He was President and a member of the Oshkosh Jaycees, receiving the Outstanding Citizen Award. He was also a member of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club and was a volunteer parole officer. He served on the Winnebago County Board of Supervisors for eight years, was Chairman of the Personnel Finance Committee, served on the East Central Region Planning Commission, and was President of the Fox Valley Quality Water Association. He was elected to the Oshkosh Common Council, serving as President/Mayor. He served on numerous committees, and was instrumental in bringing EAA to Oshkosh. He served on the Police & Fire Commission for five years and on the Oshkosh Planning Commission. George was also a member of the Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club and President of the Republican Party. George was a Champion Golden Gloves boxer, fast-pitched for Tommys Angels, enjoyed bowling and golf. He enjoyed being outdoors, feeding his animals, working in the yard, sitting on the deck, boating, camping, and any family activity. Another passion was his computer where he enjoyed fantasy football/baseball, staying in touch, exchanging emails, with many friends. Above all and most important in his life was his devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren whom he loved unconditionally. He loved and cherished his wife and just spending time with his family. He will remain deeply loved, never forgotten and appreciated in many memories. We will always remember, while remaining thankful and grateful, the blessing to have such an exceptionally wonderful beloved Husband, Dad and Grandpa. All who knew and loved George will sadly miss him. A funeral visitation will be Wednesday, July 27th from 5-8 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside and Thursday, July 28th at St. Raphaels Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up in Georges name. Georges family would like to thank Dr. Alnouri, Roxanne, Yvonne, and the rest of his staff for the many years of excellent care.
