George S. Paterson, 89, of Oshkosh died Saturday February 10. 2007 at Park View Health Center after a short stay. He was born February 13, 1917 in Appleton to the late George E. Paterson and Gertrude E.(Chamberlain) Paterson.George was a veteran of WWII, serving as a radar technician in Europe from 1942-1945. He returned to Oshkosh after the war and began a thirty one year career as a United States Postal Letter Carrier. George was re-acquainted with and married his high school sweetheart Mary E (Betty) Godden on October 4, 1968. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Union for over fifty years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, bowling, bird watching, and all stars basketball.He is survived by his wife Mary E.(Betty) Paterson of Oshkosh, two sons Bruce Paterson of Frisco, TX, John Paterson of Menasha, two step-daughters Kay Carbajal of Lutz, FL., Anne Segard of Chicago, one step-son Christopher Godden of Southampton, England, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one brother Robert Paterson of Oshkosh.He was preceded in death by parents, sister Margery Paterson, and a daughter Patricia Raymond.A memorial visitation will be held on Friday February 16, 2007 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home East.
