On 5/30/16, Georgiana Corbett got her wings, at the age of 86, and has joined her beloved husband, Kenny in heaven. Shell be dearly missed by her son Mark Corbett, daughter Dr Colleen Corbett, daughter Linda Benhardus and her son-in-law Walt Benhardus. As well as her cherished granddaughters Molly Corbett and fianc Matt Minga, plus Abby Pitzner and husband Darren Pitzner. Our lives were enriched by her brilliant intellect and unfailing compassion. She was Valedictorian of her high school class at Chilton, WI, followed by a Degree in Nursing from St. Agnes in Fond du Lac. Her devotion to her family was exemplified by the fact she gave up her nursing career, moved to San Diego shortly after graduation, to be with husband Ken, who was in the Navy. And then lovingly raised 3 children in San Diego, followed by Wisconsin. There wasnt much she didnt excel at once she accepted a challenge; be it accounting, rose gardening, cooking, or stocking the travel trailer and co-piloting our endless glorious camping trips across the U.S. She was also a volunteer at the local hospitals in the recovery room, etc, and regular volunteer at all our schools, not to mention a long time member of the Nursing Club.Everyone who met her was struck by her gregarious, caring personality and light hearted humor. But it should be noted she was a rabid Packer fan, and the one place where her compassion failed her was when it came to their opponents. It wasnt unusual for some colorful language to follow. Her strong Catholic faith sustained her thru life, and she instilled in us the need to follow our Christian compass as well. This was reflected in the fact we are the product of 12 years Catholic Education. Something she was very proud of. There are so many who are missing her, and we need to extend our gratitude to some of them, including those who cared for her in her final days. The devoted nurses and chaplains at Mercy Hospital, Fathers Bill, Doug and Edward from St. Raphael, and the caring Affinity Hospice staff. Plus the ultra compassionate staff at Evergreen, who cared for her for years. We are eternally grateful. The visitation is at St. Raphael Saturday June 4th at 9 a.m., Mass follows at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial is preferred for Lourdes or St. Raphael.
