Gerald Andrew Ebert

Gerald Andrew Ebert, 83, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on April 25, 2012. Jerry was born on February 26, 1929, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Andrew and Selma (Brietkreitz) Ebert. He was drafted during the Korean War and served his county in Germany. He met Patricia Ann Keipe of Green Lake on a blind date and married her on October 24, 1959. She preceded him in death on September 5, 2002. He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad as a Telegraph Operator and the Oshkosh Post Office as a Clerk until his retirement. Jerry is survived by his three daughters: Kathleen of Chengdu, China, Maureen (Jeff) Lechnir of Oshkosh, and Debra (Steve) Benfiel of Colorado Springs, CO, a grandson: Nicholas Benfiel, granddaughters: Alyssa (Mitch) Ubrig and Brittany Lechnir, both of Oshkosh, great-grandchildren: Landon and Peyton Ubrig, two brothers: Wayne (Sally) of St. Germain, Ronald of Hancock, and sister: Joyce (Orville) Schaller of Groton, SD. He is also survived by sisters-in-law: Ashtoreth Keipe of Green Lake, and Marie (Mike) Gates of Princeton and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dennis, and his niece Sherry Schaller. Funeral services for Gerald will be held at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home - Westside on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Karl Kramer officiating. Visitation will be at the 100 Lake Pointe Drive funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the service time. Burial will be at the Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. Military Honors will be given.The family would like to thank the staff at Omro Care Center for their good and thoughtful care of our dad while he was in residence.As hard as it was to say good bye, we take comfort in knowing he is with the Lord and we will see him again.
