Gerald Victor Bucher

Gerald V. Bucher, 71, entered into eternal life on November 1, 2008. He was born July 6, 1937 in Milwaukee the son of the late Victor and Harriet (Burns) Bucher. He was married on April 19, 1958 to Rosemary Gagliano. Gerald was a purchasing manager for Square D Co. in Oshkosh until his retirement in 1992. After retirement he enjoyed driving school bus for Garvins Bros. of Omro. He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, and Catholic Knights Society member. Gerald was an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and obtained a Silver Beaver and Wood Badge. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golf, cribbage, and hanging out with his grandkids. Gerald is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rosemary of Oshkosh; a sister Anne Faust of Tomahawk, WI; a brother James Bucher of Menomonee Falls, WI; children Sandra (Daniel) Wilkie of Sherwood, AR, Donald (Kathleen) Bucher of Maple Grove, MN, and Kathleen (Christopher) Marshall of Oshkosh; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and Robert Bohlman. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law Henry Faust, and a sister-in-law Bernice Bucher. A funeral mass for Gerald will be held Tuesday Nov. 4, 2008 at 6:00 PM at St. Raphael Catholic Church, Rev. Doug LeCaptain officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 PM until the service. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in Geralds name. The Bucher family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of the ICU unit at Aurora Medical Center and the Manorview West staff at Evergreen Retirement Community, they made our father feel special and loved right up to the time of his passing. You are truly part of the family.
