Gertrude E. Marohn, 95, of Oshkosh died Monday, August 13, 2012, at her residence. She was born December 4, 1916, in Argonne, WI a daughter of the late John and Anna (Foreyet) Novak. Gertrude married Hubert Marohn on April 6, 1940 in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1982. Gertrude was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish. She graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse at Mercy and Bethel Home. Gertrude was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered help with the Prison Ministry. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jo Marohn (Alan Clark) of Manassas, VA; a son, Robin Marohn (Pamela Pennington-Marohn) of Madison; two step-grandchildren, Alexander and Quinn; three sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Jones, Yvonne Schumacher, and Martha Marohn; nieces, Dianne Krall and Virginia Rochon, and many other nieces, nephews, and friends, especially Michelle Oddo, Lorraine Roob, Lenore Dunlavy, Marilyn Cornell, Nancy Megal, and Dorothy and Larry Firl. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann; four sisters and their spouses, Emily (Sam) Golie, Eleanor (Floyd) Ellis, Marie (Arthur) Fritsch, and Marce (Orlin) Coakley; Four brothers and their spouses, George (Della) Novak, Frank (Jane) Novak, John (Marian) Novak, and Joe Novak; and two brothers-in-law Orville (Amber) Marohn and Norman Marohn. A funeral mass for Gertrude will be held Friday, August 17, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish-St. Josaphat Church (1205 Congress Ave.), Rev. William Van De Kreeke officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial is being established for the Seminarian Collection Fund of the Green Bay Diocese. Gertrudes family would like to thank the staff at Theda Care at Home and Caring Connections, especially Vicky Springborn and Jeanne Radley , and an additional caregiver, Lori Felix.
