Gilbert Rudolph Malkowsky

Gilbert R. Malkowsky, age 88 died March 24, 2017. “Gil” was born July 29, 1928 in Oshkosh, son of the late Rudolph and Louine (Hanisch) Malkowsky. He married Dorothy Horn in Oshkosh on July 15, 1950. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2000.

Gil graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh and was employed at Chase Bank, Oshkosh (Oshkosh National Bank) for forty six years as the Chief Financial Officer/Vice President until his retirement July 31, 1993. He was active in many community organizations. The most recent being: Secretary and member of SCORE (Small business counseling along with the U.S. Small Business Administration), Board member and President of Oakwood Greens Condominium Association, Member of the Budget/Allocation Committee and Accounting Volunteer for Oshkosh Area United Way, Board Member and Vice Chairman of Oshkosh Community Credit Union, Chairman of Bethel Foundation Board, member of the City Development Block Grants Committee, member of the Elks Club for over 60 years, and a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church, Oshkosh. He enjoyed traveling and operating his amateur radio station as N9CEE.

Survivors include two sons, Greg (Shari) and Gary (Gretchen), and three grandchildren, Cara (Darrick) Lang, Amy (Bryan) Hardin, and Joseph (Kelly) Malkowsky. He is further survived by ten great grandchildren - Aaron, Finn, Louisa, Tripp and Veronica Lang; Carson, Lexi, and Emma Hardin; and Jackson and Katelyn Malkowsky. He was preceded in death by his wife and his sister, June Holsworth.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home on Lake Pointe Drive with visitation between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Services will immediately follow visitation. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the First Presbyterian Church – Oshkosh, 110 Church Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54901.
