Gladys Marlene Polishinski, 85, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019. She was born June 17, 1933, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Victor and Carrie (Brennand) Wahlgren. Marlene married Gerald Polishinski May 29, 1951, and he preceded her in death on October 3, 2000. Marlene enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her great grandchildren, and loved traveling to their cottage up north, where Marlene would love to watch the hummingbirds. She was also known to enjoy an old fashion or martini or two and playing cards, especially poker. A good past time became playing cards and games at her river apartment with friends and enjoying happy hour and Friday coffee.
Marlene is survived by her son, Dan (Mary) Polishinski and daughter, Nancy Spiegel; grandchildren: Timothy Polishinski and Erin (Kyle) Lerch; great grandchildren: Kenadie and Colton Lerch and Emma Birkner; a sister, Sonja Barlow; brothers: Robert and Richard (Arline) Wahlgren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Marlene was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Geraldine “Sis” Duffy.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. noon Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh, with Deacon Peter Cheskie officiating. Inurnment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service.
Marlene’s family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the entire Aurora medical staff, especially Dr. Michael Kim and Dr. Jeffrey Goldman for their expertise and loving care.
