Gloria Ruth Stark

Gloria R. Stark, age 74 of Oshkosh, died at Bethel Home on Saturday August 13, 2011 with her family at her side. She was born in Oshkosh on March 2, 1937, a daughter of the late I. Merle and Laurie K. Welker Hicks. On May 17, 1958 Gloria married Richard R. Stark in Oshkosh. Dick preceded her in death on October 30, 2005. Gloria graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1954. She had been employed with Oshkosh National Bank and was coordinator with Carlsons Temps and coordinator for Hometown and operated a day care service. Gloria had been a Bluebird Leader, Campfire Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, Boy Scout Leader, Sunday school teacher at St. Pauls United Church of Christ and a member of the Business Womens Club of Oshkosh. She and Dick were foster parents and deaf boarding home parents.Survivors include two special children, Steven (Tammy) Stark; Julie (Mark) Beecher; five grandchildren, Steve (Holly Carlson) Stark; Justin (Katie Rasmussen) Stark; Nathan Stark; Corey and Andrea Beecher, all of Oshkosh; two sisters, June Otto, Oshkosh; Barbara Peterson, Redgranite; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Marsh, Neenah, Mary (Dennis) Berger, Oshkosh, Cindy Jischke, Oshkosh; one brother-in-law, Robert (Karen) Stark, Appleton; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bob, Jan, Bud and Troy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Robert Hicks.Memorial services will be held in the chapel at Lake View Memorial Park on Friday August 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 am to the time of service. A memorial has been established. Special thanks to Dr. Kevin Andrasko, the staff and physicians at Mercy Medical Center, the staff at Eden Meadows Rehab, Bethel Home and Affinity Hospice for the care and compassion given to Mom.
