Gordon J. Stroub, age 95, passed away on Monday April 10, 2017 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on June 12, 1921 to the late George and Minnie (Geisler) Stroub in Sheboygan Falls. Gordon married Bernice Krause on December 19, 1945 in Watertown, WI.
He graduated high school and went on to proudly serve his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
Gordon was active in church and Rotary; was an EAA Museum Docent and enjoyed airplanes, he also enjoyed reading, family and friends and (ROMEO) - Retired Old Men Eating Out.
He is survived by his daughter: Kathy (John) Gile; grandchildren: Paul (Sonya), Brent (Sarah) and Gina; and great grandchildren: Ayza, Payton, Simon and Khloe.
Gordon was preceded in death by his wife Bernice and son Steven Stroub.
A funeral service for Gordon will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home – (Westside) with Rev. John “Jack” Stubbs officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church (700 W. Linwood Ave. Oshkosh, WI 54901) in Gordon’s memory.
