Gregory “Guppy” R. Klinger, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at his home. He was born on February 6, 1942 in Oshkosh to Harold and Mildred (Strochein) Klinger.
Guppy graduated from Oshkosh High School and from there proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and also in the National Guard Reserves. He worked as a grinder at Mercury Marine until his retirement.
Guppy is survived by his daughter: Michelle Ballard; grandchildren: Emily, Ted and Alex Ballard; great grandchildren: Wyatt and Amelia Ballard and Adam Butner; sisters: Wanda Lamore and Audrey Wegner; brothers: Jim (Pam), Bob (Jean) and Jerry Klinger. He is further survived by a sister in law Linda Klinger and many adored nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Amy Cline; brother: Harold Edward Klinger; sister in law: Holly Klinger; and brother in law: Roger Wegner.
A memorial service for Guppy will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- (Eastside). Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Amy will be laid to rest with her father Guppy following a ceremony at Riverside Cemetery. A celebration of both of their lives is planned for March 10 from 1-5PM at Twisted Roots Tavern.
In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in Guppy’s name.
