Harold H. Gerber, age 94, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on December 23, 1922 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Harold and Irma (Pollnow) Gerber.
Harold finished school and went on to honorably serve his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a gunner. After returning, he became a salesman at a sporting goods store.
Harold loved to fish and run the resort with his brother that his parents had bought. Enjoyed his job in selling sporting goods to fellow outdoorsman, hunting, movies and homemade videos, but above all he loved his family and spending time with them. Harold never complained and was always positive about every aspect of life even until the very end.
He is survived by his two daughters: Christine (Tom) Pucci and Elyn Schloer; grandchildren: William (Jennifer) Bodenbach, Christina (James) Smith, Mark (Stephanie), Brian (Jodi) and Craig Schloer; step grandchildren: Ross (Rachel) Esenberg and Kelly (Dan) Kwiatkowski; and sister: Betty Stanlaw. He is further survived by fifteen great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his step son: Daniel Esenberg; son in law: John Schloer; brothers: Clyde, Jack and Donald Gerber; and brother in law: John Stanlaw.
A memorial service for Harold will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Peace Lutheran Church (1228 S. Park Ave Neenah, WI 54956) with Rev. Ricky P. Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Internment will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Milwaukee.
In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
