Harold Leo Friedrick Gutknecht

Harold L. F. Gutknecht, 90, of Oshkosh, died at his home on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. He was born on April 8, 1919 in Merrill the son of August and Elise Steffenhagen Gutknecht. He married Beverly Krause on September 22, 1951 in Shawano. Harold was a millwright at Triangle Manufacturing and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, boating, lapidary and beekeeping. He also enjoyed many hours riding the lawnmower at the cottage. Harold was a proud U. S. Army veteran of World War II.Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Oshkosh; son, Robert (Lisa) Gutknecht of Wausau; one daughter, Cynthia Gutknecht of Waupaca; one sister, Mary Ann O'Donnel of Texas; and three grandchildren, Jessica, Ben and Tim Gutknecht all of Wausau. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Herbert and Marvin Gutknecht.A graveside service followed by military honors will be held at Lake View Memorial Park (2786 Algoma Blvd) on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 11:30 AM.Memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
