Harold “Rocky” Meton, age 91, passed away at Bethel Home on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. He was born to the late Michael and Lillian (Rogers) Meton on August 1, 1931 in Redgranite, WI. While attending high school, Rocky went in to the United States Navy where he served his country for four years, serving on the USS Hubbard and in Korea. After his time in the service, Rocky met and married Barbara Billington on February 25, 1956. He worked as a supervisor at Rockwell International as well as a Yard man at CR Meyer. Rocky enjoyed playng Cribbage, especially against his children. He also liked deer hunting as well as golfing. Rocky enjoyed being social and would join his friends at the Hardee’s for breakfast and the delta for Lunch every Thursday.
Rocky is survived by his children, Kim (Roger) Giffey, Connie (Jimmy Ruby) Shaefer, Lisa (Jeff) Houge, Mark (Patty)Meton, Dawn Meton, and Gail (Mark) Schaefers; 15 grandchildren, Ryan Giffey (DeeAnn Drexler), Kurt (Abi) Giffey, Hilary (Christopher) Gelhar, Rachel Shaefer, Jason (Andrea) Houge, Kristen (Tim Knuth) Houge, Scott (Amanda) Houge, Samantha Houge, Tyler (Kayla) Anklam, Lisa Anklam, Michael Meton, Ashley (Dave) Rhyner, Bradley Potratz, Emily (Brett Aston) Schaefers, Benjamin Schaefers; and many great-grandchildren. Rocky is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Rocky was preceded in death by his wife, Barb; siblings, Leonard Meton, Elmyra (Clarence) Lorvig, Victoria Fritz, and Lawrence “Bud” Meton.
A funeral service for Rocky will be held at Konrad-Behlman Westside (100 Lake Pointe Dr) on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11AM. A time of visitation will be held from 9AM until the time of service. A burial will be held at Lake View Memorial Park.
Rocky’s family would like to thank the staff at Gabriel’s Villa, Bethel Home, and Moments Hospice for the amazing care and kindness towards dad.
