Harris P. Kraase, age 94, gained full independence on July 4, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Harris was born on April 30, 1923 in Marshfield, WI to Earnest and Emma Kraase. He married Dolores Rahn on November 25, 1945. He is survived by five children: daughter, Karen Hawkins; sons: Duane (Launa), Gary, Roger (Nancy), Kenneth (Amy) Kraase; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and friend Juanita Dallman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores, his brother, Clarence and his sister, Adela Lautenbach.
Harris served as a nose gunner in the 864th Bombardment Squadron during World War II. After the war Harris earned his certificate as a journeyman cabinet maker. Since retiring from Tri-City Glass in Appleton, Harris continued to enjoy time with his family, woodworking, fishing, gardening, and square dancing.
Harris had a real zest for life and continues his journey “into the wild blue yonder”.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 338 N. Eagle Street, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. John Seelman will officiate. Military honors and entombment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
