Harry Gauger

Harry I. Gauger, 95, of Oshkosh died Saturday April 14, 2007 at the Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Oshkosh on March 17, 1912 the son of Otto and Nora Buchanan Gauger. On June 24, 1933 he married Esther Olson in Oshkosh. Harry retired as a Captain with the Oshkosh Fire Department in 1969. He was an active member of the First English Lutheran Church. He had been on the mailing staff for 33 years, President Luther League, janitor, Sunday School teacher, and money counter. He had also delivered for Sterling Gardens for many years.He is survived by his wife, Esther Gauger of Oshkosh, two sons, David (Judith) Gauger of Overland Park, KS, and James Gauger of Oshkosh, a brother, Robert (June) Gauger of San Diego, CA, two sisters, Beatrice Eyers of Oshkosh, and Mildred (Howard) Schroeder of Lakewood, CO, six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Gilbert Gauger.A memorial service will be held at the familys convenience. The family requests that no flowers be sent at this time.
