Harry George Helf

Harry G. Helf Jr. 80 of Oshkosh died at Northpoint Medical & Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, May 18, 2006. He was born in Oshkosh on November 12, 1925, a son of the late Harry G. and Alvina Youngwirth Helf. On May 29, 1948 Harry married Donna Bloechl, in Oshkosh.Harry enlisted in the Navy, serving during WWII in the Asiatic Theatre. He was employed at Rockwell International until his retirement. Harry was a member of St. Josaphat Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, feeding and watching birds, as well as an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles.Survivors include his wife Donna Helf, three sons, Michael (Holly) Helf; Steve (Sally) Helf; Paul (Pam) Helf, all of Oshkosh; seven grandchildren, Angela, MacKenzie, Danica, Olivia, Shannon, Matthew, and Christopher; seven great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Helf, of Westchester, IL. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and John Helf.Funeral services will be held at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Monday, May 22, 2006, beginning at Noon. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 Am to the time of service. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park, with Military Honors. A memorial has been established.Special thanks are extended to the staff at Aurora Medical Center, the staff at Northpoint Medical & Rehabilitation, and to Dr. Michael Duffy, for the care and comfort given to Harry.
