Harry Gorwitz

Harry Gorwitz, 94 Of Oshkosh died at Evergreen Retirement Community on April 28, 2008. Harry was born in Hortonville, WI on August 2, 1913 a son of the late Max and Rose Nemschoff Gorwitz. He married Jean Fitzgibbon in October of 1952 in Oshkosh.Harry was a graduate of Oshkosh High School and Oshkosh State Teachers College. With his brother Simon, they owned and operated Max Gorwitz & Sons, a local fur, wool and hide dealer, founded by their father Max. He was a member of Temple BNai Israel and was a past member of T & O 400 Bowling League and Lakeshore Mens Thursday Night Golf League.Survivors include his wife Jean Gorwitz, Oshkosh; one son Marshall (Crystal) Gorwitz, Appleton; one daughter, Debbie (Michael) Heitzer, Pewaukee; five grandchildren Michael Gorwitz, New York; Jennie Gorwitz, Green Bay; Andrew, Kevin, Henry Heitzer, all of Pewaukee. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Mory, Louie, Simon and Sam Gorwitz, three sisters, Esther Palmer, Rose Weinstein and Jennie Simon.Private family graveside services will be held at Lake View Memorial Park with Gary Wolfman officiating.
