Harry W Wahlgren

Harry W. Wahlgren, age 98, of Oshkosh, died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Waterford at Oshkosh. He was born on July 3, 1919, in Oshkosh, a son of Herman and Hilda Johnson Wahlgren. He married Catherine Yanko on Septembers, 1945.
Harry was an Oshkosh High School graduate. He served in the United States Army from 1941 until 1945 in the European Theatre Operation. During the Battle of the Bulge, while assigned to the 7th Armored Division, he was awarded a Battlefield Commission. He was very active in Army Reserves units in both Oshkosh and Neenah/Menasha areas, retiring as a Major. Throughout his life he was a member of the National Order of Battlefield Commission, American Legion Post #70, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Retired Reserve Officers. Harry was employed by Race Office Supply and Equipment for 35 years, and prior to retirement, was the company's president. His hobbies included: woodworking, golf, fishing, dancing and until the end of his life, playing cribbage.
He is survived by: two daughters, Kay (Charles) Knauer, Karen (Peter) Gumz, five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife, five brothers, and one sister.
A memorial has been established.
