Harvey R. Potratz, 87, of rural Oshkosh, died at his home on Saturday, September 24, 2005. He was born in Oshkosh on April 27, 1918, a son of Richard H. and Helen Raddatz Potratz. Harvey married Bernice E. Knutzen on Dec. 14, 1945 in Dale, WI.Harvey farmed in the town of Nekimi for many years. He served his country in the Army during WWII. Harvey was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in the Town of Nekimi. He had a love of old machinery, enjoyed gardening and his orchard. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Potratz, Oshkosh; three sons, Richard (Carol) Potratz, Granville, GA; Douglas Potratz, Oshkosh; James (Paula) Potratz, Oshkosh; four daughters, Myrna (Tom) Kaufman, Oshkosh; Sharon Potratz, Oshkosh; Christine (Tom) Vogelin, Oshkosh; Laurie (Bob) Ives, San Antonio, TX; one brother, Marvin (Irma) Potratz, Van Dyne; two sisters, Pearl Everett, Oshkosh; Alice (Carl) Berger, Wauwatosa; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Benjamin, Norman, Herbert, Elmer, and Henry Potratz; and one sister, Dorothy Karau.Funeral services will be held at St. Johns Lutheran Church- Nekimi (491 Old Oregon Rd.) on Thursday September 29, 2005 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ralph Hanusa officiating. Family and friends may call at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Wednesday September 28, 2005 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at St. Johns Lutheran Church Cemetery.
