Hazel Ruth Schmidt

Hazel R. Schmidt, 86, of Oshkosh, died Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Park View-Pavilion. She was born August 12, 1920 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Fred and Laura Ahrens. She married Clarence Schmidt on June 2, 1938, who preceded her in death on May 13, 2001. During her stay at Park View she especially enjoyed sharing stories with the staff, the music provided regularly, along with playing cards with the family, and frequent visits by her sister, Shirley. Hazel is survived by daughters, Billie (Barry) Gauthier and Patti Boelke, both of Oshkosh; sons Burton (Penelope) Schmidt, Dennis (Joan) Schmidt, Kerry (Vickie) Schmidt, and Steve Schmidt all of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Scott (Rebecca) Rennert, Oshkosh, Cherie Gauthier, Campbellsport, Ted (Jenine) Schmidt, Stoughton, Sally Schmidt, Madison, Janet (Michael) Dailey, Madison, Julie Schmidt (Brian Beck), Manssas, VA, Sara (Jerry) Schiefelbein, Jeremy Schmidt, Sandra Schmidt (Russ Goble), Shaina Boelke, and Tara Boelke all of Oshkosh; as well as great-grandchildren, Ryan Gebert, Marcella Rennert, and Bailey Rennert. She is further survived by a brother, William Ahrens, Oshkosh, and sisters, Shirley Brehmer, Oshkosh and Doris (Jesse) Johns, Saginaw, TX. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; brothers, Fred and George Ahrens; and sisters Viola Abraham, Laura Lautenschlager, Rose Kleveno, and Mildred Kerwin. Cremation has taken place and, as she requested, there will be no funeral service.
