Hilda M. Thompson

Hilda M. Thompson, age 79, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, January 2, 2022. She was born to the late Garfield and Evelyn (Coleman) Lawson on May 27, 1942, in Rockbridge County, Virginia. She spent her career as a home care worker taking care of families and their loved ones. Hilda was a member at Mount Olive Holy Temple Church of God and Christ. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and especially quilting. She made many beautiful quilts for her family and friends.
Hilda is survived by her son, Kipling (Heather) Thompson; grandchildren, Devares, Phillip, Ymaika, Malcolm, and Rashaun Mason, Whitney and Selina Okon and Phanique Thompson; many great and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ethel Etuk, and Paulette Howell.
In addition to her parents, Hilda was preceded in death by her siblings, Gloria Brown, Freddie Henderson, and James “Jimmy” Henderson.
A private celebration of life will be held by the family.
