Hildegarde Domnie

Hildegarde (Skok) Domnie, 91, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Evergreen Retirement Community.She was born to the late Antonia and Micheal Skok on October 23, 1921 in Sheboygan, WI. She was a member of St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and graduated from Sheboygan High School. She married the late Oscar Domnie in 1947 and they lived together in Sheboygan, WI before relocating in 1950 to Manitowoc, WI.Hilde worked at the Manitowoc Public Utilities, the Manitowoc Savings Bank and at AT&T Phone Company. She moved to Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh, WI in 2008.She is survived by her two children; Mildred Mimi Domnie-Plummer (Steven Plummer) of Hudson, OH and Walter (Mary) Domnie of Oshkosh, WI. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Meghan (Domnie) Servais of Cambridge, WI, Tess Domnie of Oshkosh, WI, Shannon (Plummer) Twilling of Tucson, AZ, and Andrew Plummer of Twinsburg, OH and by three great-grandchildren; Anna Twilling, Sadie Twilling, and Ester Servais.Hilde as she was known by her friends will be remembered for her independent spirit and enjoyment of conversation while sharing a good cup of coffee. She was known to her family as Nana and will be remembered for her love and devotion to them all. She was proud of her Slovenian heritage and passed this along to children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In her honor we all join together to say lijubim te mama.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Evergreen Retirement Community foundation, 1130 N Westfield St. Oshkosh, WI 54902.Per the wishes of Hildegarde, no public service is planned at this time.
