Howard A. Schultz, 82 Oshkosh was welcomed home by his heavenly father on Monday, October 2, 2006 at Park View Health Center, Oshkosh. He was born June 18, 1924 in Wautoma WI, son of Arthur and Nelda (Anderson) Schultz. Howard served in the US Army during WWII, was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of Cook-Fuller Post 70, American Legion, and the Last Mans Club II. On July 10, 1948, he married Adelyne Addie Merkey in Berlin, WI, and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage together. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Howard and his family owned and operated City Recreation Lanes in Wautoma for many years. Upon leaving private business, Howard worked for Rockwell-Standard, Oshkosh, retiring in 1980. Remaining active in the community, he was later employed by West Side Garage, Berlin; Badger Oldsmobile and Mueller-Chrysler automotive companies in Oshkosh. Howard enjoyed all athletic competition, especially bowling, golfing, deer hunting, his Packers, and the company of many friends made at Pearl Lake Campground, Redgranite. Howard and Adelyne were active member of the Oshkosh Elks Club enjoying the activities and companionship with fellow members.He is survived by his wife Adelyne Schultz, son, Donald (Cynthia Long) Schultz, Appleton; daughter, Jody (Ted) Livingston, Little Chute; son, Bradley (Liz) Schultz, Oshkosh; brother, Lyle (Lyla) Schultz, Wautoma; sister, Beulah Stecker, Davenport, IA; sisters-in-law, Jackie Schultz, Tennessee; Dorothy (Tony) Castonia, Crivitz; grandchildren, Cory Schultz, Oshkosh, Ryan Schultz, Hortonville, Ria (Tony) Fletcher, New London, great grandchildren Sage and Skyler Schultz, Hortonville, Logan and Morgan Fletcher, New London, along with numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Boyd Schultz, brothers-in-law Bob Stecker and Donald Merkey.Funeral services will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Jeff Knoll officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 pm to the time of service on Thursday. Interment with military honors, will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery.The Schultz family would like to extend our thanks and heart felt gratitude to the entire Park View Health Center staff, for the loving and gentle care provided to Howard over the last two years.
