Ida Low Kemper died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at her residence. She was born on October 3, 1929 in Cardston, Alberta Canada. She started life in the hamlet of New Dayton, Alberta, Canada as the 8th of 9 children, daughter of William Royden and Ethel Marie Hansen Low.
She is survived by her husband, William Doral Kemper, her children Greta (Walter) Hobbs, Lisa Kemper, Kristen (Christopher) Kindt, Denise (Mark) Houghton, Fredrick (Jill) Kemper, Geniel (Paul Bergstrom) Kemper, 25 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and her sister Helen Low.
As a young woman, Ida was a teacher of first grade, and taught many people to read over her lifetime. She fulfilled a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in southern California. She was well traveled, and lived in Magrath Alberta, Fort Collins Colorado, Perth Australia, Laurel Maryland, Islamabad Pakistan, Twin Falls Idaho, and finally in Oshkosh for the last 21 years.
Her wit, brown sparkly eyes and good taste in men (William Doral Kemper) will be fondly remembered. She was a loyal friend, hardworker, and well read. She was a docent at the National Museum of Art. She taught her 6 children to enjoy a job well done. She was an excellent and prolific seamstress, made delicious hand dipped chocolates, beautiful hand-knit art, and was a proud Democrat. She filled her homes with order, beauty, and fun. She loved to host a good party.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday September 8, 2018 at 11:00 am at 2828 Scenic Drive, Oshkosh, WI. Luncheon afterward at the Kemper home.
