Irene E Hensel

Irene E. Hensel, age 80, passed away at Aurora Medical Center on December 29, 2018. She was born to the late Karl and Elizabeth (Freduch) Omernick on January 15, 1938 in Amherst Junction. She married Karl Hensel on February 4, 1961 in Crownpoint, IN. Irene at one point owned and operated a sporting goods store in Friendship, WI. She also later worked as a food service chef for many years. Irene was a member at Most Blessed Sacrament- St. Mary’s site. Irene enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her husband watching sports games on TV.
Irene is survived by her husband, Karl; children, Bill (Jen) and Kathy (Significant other: Jules) Hensel; grandchildren, Cassandra, Melissa (Brent), Matthew, Jordan(Becky), Cameron; and great-grandchildren, Rowan, Aaron, and Brennan.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her seven siblings, Emil, Ed, Leo, Romy, Chester Omernick, Gertrude Kaminski, and Ramona Noeske.
A service for Irene will be held at Konrad-Behlman (100 Lake Pointe Dr) on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 12PM. A visitation will take place from 10AM until the time of service. An entombment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank with all of their heart, Mom’s best friend Linda, and Dad’s best friend Russ. We would also like to thank all of the outstanding staff of Aurora ICU, including Connie who lent her shoulder to cry on.
