Ivan O. Craig Jr.

Ivan O. Craig, age 72, of Oshkosh, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born on September 4, 1949, in Berlin to the late Ivan Sr. and Elaine (Helmuth) Craig. Ivan attended Omro Highschool and graduated from Marquette University.

Ivan worked for F.W. Woolworth Company for 17 years. He then moved to Appleton and taught at the Fox Valley Technical College for five years, Fox Valley Greyhound Park as a jockey for three years, and International Paper Pluswood where he retired.

Ivan was a member of the Oshkosh Elks #292 for over 40 years, was Secretary for 30 years of those years, and worked hard to get seniors in high school scholarships for college. He helped students get over $1,000,000 in scholarships over the years. Ivan was a member of the Jim Beam Bottle Club, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Duck Unlimited, and Challenge the Outdoors.

Ivan is survived by the love of his life, Sherry Colvin; stepchildren: Julie Trams, Chris (Kim) Carrick; step-grandchildren: Liz Trams, Archie, Milo, Tobi and Willamina Carrick; brother, Gary (Deb) Craig; nieces, Nikki (Scott) Schwebke; and nephew, Brett (Steph) Craig. He was further preceded in death by his fiancée, Joyce Carrick; stepson, Joshua Carrick; and step son-in-law, John Trams.

An Elk’s service will be held at 5:00 pm and a memorial service at 5:30 pm on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the Oshkosh Elk’s Club, 175 W Fernau Avenue, Oshkosh. Visitation will take place at the Elk’s Club on Thursday from 2:00 pm until the time of service.
