Jake Stumpf of Oshkosh, Wisconsin died at his home Friday, September 29, 2006.Jake was born in Marathon County, Wisconsin to George and Lydia Stumpf.He was retired after having worked 47 years for Olson Transportation, (which later became Central Wisconsin Transportation). He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and a resident of Oshkosh for over 54 years, and a veteran of the United States Navy.He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Arlene, his sons Roger Stumpf of Oshkosh, Lance Stumpf and his wife Alyson of Lexington, Kentucky and his daughter Sandra Stumpf, of Cotati, California; grandchildren are Alex Stumpf, Nicole and Holly Stumpf, and step-grandchildren Taylor, Alana, and Addison.He is also survived by sisters Viola Shady of Fond du Lac, Hattie Knop of Rib Lake, Eleanora Stroschine of Fond du Lac, and brother Don Stumpf of California.He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lydia Stumpf, brothers Jim and Herbert Stumpf, and sisters Violet Sturzinger and Hilda Janko.Funeral services will be held on Monday Oct. 2, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Marvin Ahlborn officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery where full military honors will be performed.A memorial has been established.
