James Edward Allison

James E. Allison, age 72, of Oshkosh passed away on Monday, October 8, 2007 at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born on June 6, 1935 in Oshkosh a son of the late Edward and Edna Voelker Allison. On September 27, 1958 he married Sharon Paffenroth.James was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he was baptized, confirmed, and married. He was a graduate of Oshkosh High, class of 1953. He had worked at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at Reeve Memorial Union as a maintenance supervisor, for 37 years until his retirement in 1997. James served his country in the US Army National Guard from 1957 to 1961 in the 32nd Red Arrow Infantry Division. James liked his working on his lawn, gardening and sports. He was an avid Packer fan that had waited for over 30 years for his tickets.Survivors include his wife, Sharon of Oshkosh; a daughter, Patty Allison of Madison; three sons, Craig Allison of Oshkosh, Curt (Shari) Allison of Caledonia and John (Wendy) Allison of Atlanta, GA. He is further survived by a sister, Marge (Don) Petry of Afton, MN; three grandchildren, Emma, Lily and Nora Allison and a sister-in-law, Joan Allison of OmroMr. Allison was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert Allison and one sister, Carole Allison.Funeral services for James will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2007 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (1206 Ontario Street) with the Rev. Paul Lidtke officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home – Eastside (402 Waugoo Ave) from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service time. Interment will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
