It breaks my heart to have to tell you that my husband, best friend, and soul mate, Jim Schlundt passed away on Monday, November 27, 2006 after a brave battle with Leukemia and Aplastic Anemia. He was born September 1, 1936 in Antigo, a son of Alex and Carrie Schlundt. Jim married Betty BJ Wild on October 11, 1958. Jim served his country in the US Army. He worked at Winnebago Mental Health Institute as a resident care technician for 32 years retiring in 1995. He loved being a crossing guard for Lincoln School, and a playground assistant at St Peters School, he was an avid bowler, Badger, and Packer fan; he enjoyed trips to Florida with BJ, and was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, BJ, two daughters, who were and are their pillars of strength, Margie Schlundt-Rohde of Menasha, and Karrie (Ruben) Schlundt-Sepulveda of Doral, FL, two brothers, Bill (Barb) Schlundt of Marietta, GA, and Eugene (Evelyn) Schlundt of Antigo, a sister, Mary Ann (Walter) Schardt of Shawano, three grand children, Brandon, Tyler Rohde, and Natalia Sepulveda; a brother-in-law, Gene Kubiaczyk of Antigo and sister-in-law, Rosie (Bill) Forshay of San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by a son, Jamie, a grandson, Justin Rohde, a sister, Evelyn Kubiaczyk and a sister-in-law, Char Schlundt. A memorial Mass for Jim will be held on Thursday November 30, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church (435 High Ave) with Fr. Robert Kollath officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the hour of Mass. A memorial has been established. The family would like to thank Dr. Duwell, Dr Dar, and Dr Loomis, the nurses at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, Kathy, Jane, Jan, Pat, Debbie, Karen, Amy, and Ping, the staff at Aurora Medical Center Two North, Tracy, Julie, Craig, Carol, Mike, Sharon, Michelle, Abby, and Sue, and Aurora VNA Hospice nurses, Nell and Marsha. We laughed with him, we learned from him, we leaned on him, and we loved him. We will miss you forever, Love your family.
