James "Jim" Brooks, age 78, passed away at Park View Health Center on November 3, 2017. He was born to the late Francis and Gladys (Reetz) Brooks on March 14, 1939 in Oshkosh. He married Judy Abraham on October 3, 1959 in Fond du Lac, WI. He worked for Coca Cola Bottling during his high school years loading trucks. He then worked for Wally's Auto Salvage, Central Construction and Gabes Construction out of Sheboygan where he retired from in 1997.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and auto racing. He was a member of the Van Dyne Sportsman Club and enjoyed trap shooting. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, four-wheeling and working with wood. They spent 14 winters in Arizona where he enjoyed bowling and shuffleboard.
Those Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife; two sons, Jeffrey (Cathy Baldry), Jay (Jennifer Hill); two grandchildren, Jessica Brooks, Jeana (Kevin) Meyer; and two great-grandchildren, Brayden & Kamden Meyer. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Pamela Brooks and many close cousins and their families.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by three siblings, Jacqueline (Jackie) Robert and infant brother Donald.
Visitation for Jim will be held at Lord of the Lakes Church (6090 Harbour South Drive, Winneconne, WI) on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. with a service following at 4 PM with Rev. Kevin Heffernan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Jim's name with American Cancer Society.
The family would like to thank St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, Michael D. Wachtel Cancer Center, Park View Health Center and Affinity Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Jim and his family for the past eight months.
