James Frederick Wokosin

April 27, 1940 — July 26, 2015

James F. Wokosin, 75, Oshkosh, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center, with his family by his side. Jim was born April 27, 1940, in Oshkosh, son of Frederick and Alma (Nitz) Wokosin. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Jim joined Price Waterhouse in Chicago where he began his accounting career. After he and his wife Carol had their two children, they moved to Sioux City, Iowa and raised them in the Morningside community while progressing in his accounting and executive career at Terra Chemicals International. He would eventually pursue an entrepreneurial venture in accounting and tax preparation, building a thriving practice back in his home state of Wisconsin where he and his wife Carol could enjoy their later years among friends and family.In addition to boating, tennis and softball in his early years, he had a passion for the outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman as well as a love for cooking and grilling. Jim enjoyed the companionship of his dogs and received the most joy in raising his children with his wife Carol as well as carving pumpkins, picking strawberries and reading to his grandchildren. Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol; daughter, Linda (David) Janotha; son, Mike (Amanda Massucci) Wokosin; grandchildren: Caroline and Zachary Janotha, and River and Schyler Wokosin; brothers-in-law: Bob (Karen), George (Barb), John (Barb), Dennis, and David (Lori) Dahl; a sister-in-law, Pat (Mike) Kulibert; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sue Hayes.A celebration of Jims life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside location. A gathering time for friends and family will begin at 3:00 p.m. and go until the celebration begins. Jims family would like to express a very special thank you to the ICU team at Aurora Medical Center, as well as the staff at Evergreens Creekview Rehabilitation Center, which added quality to Jims life.
