James L Zentner

James L. Zentner, 77 of Oshkosh died at his home on Wednesday April 8, 2009. He was born in Oshkosh, on March 13, 1932, a son of Ardell and Alma Ziebell Zentner. He married Betty Jane Voss on September 29, 1952 in Oshkosh. She preceded him in death on November 6, 2006. He then married Claire Kliss on July 26, 2008 in Oshkosh.Jim served in the Air Force and retired from the Kingsbury Company. He was a member St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, and was very involved there, having served on the property committee, was an usher and formerly served on the church council. Jim was part of the Kingsman Chorus. He loved old cars and muscle cars, attended the EAA Conventions, and enjoyed golfing.Survivors include his wife Claire, Oshkosh; daughter Karen (Philip) LaBorde, Oshkosh; three grandchildren, Justin Crawford, serving with the Marines in Japan, Andrea Crawford and Sarah Crawford, both of Oshkosh; one brother, Larry (Barbara) Zentner, Manistique, MI; three step daughters, Gayle (Ron) Billman, Neenah, Jody Hirte, Oshkosh, Deanne Dailey, Oshkosh; six step grandchildren, Donavon (Joann) True, Boynton Beach, FL, Matt (Heather) True, Madison, Amanda Hirte, Ross Hirte, Jonathon Dailey, Nathan Dailey, all of Oshkosh; two step great grandchildren Brycen True and Maeve True; and a brother-in-law, John Rozek, West Bend. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Jane, daughter, Debra Crawford, son-in-law, Philip Crawford, step son-in-law, David Hirte and a sister, Suzanne Rozek. Funeral services will be held at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church (808 N. Main St) on Tuesday April 14, 2009 at 4:00 PM with Rev.s Ted Johanson and Carol DiBiasio-Snyder officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 2:00 PM to the time of service. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park with Military Honors. A memorial has been established.
