Mickey spent most of his working years at White Pine Copper Company, both underground in the mine and later in the maintenance area, retiring in 1992. Mickey is survived by his daughter, Brenda Borger and son-in-law Bob Borger of Woodruff, Wisconsin, his son Michael Halron of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, his granddaughter, Jamie McNulty and her husband Bryan McNulty of Wadsworth, Illinois and his three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Aleigha and Brendan McNulty. He is also survived by Doug Fyfe and his wife, Mary, of Oak Harbor, Washington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna, his in-laws Ted and Lucille Sommer and his cousin Jim (Chugger) Fyfe.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial will be held at a later date for both him and Verna.
