My soul mate, James “Murph” Murphy has moved on to another bar in heaven. James Richard Murphy was born to Charlotte and John “Jug” Murphy on July 16, 1955. He attended Lourdes in Oshkosh. Many of his classmates are still friends to this day.
Murph is survived by his mother, Charlotte J. Murphy; brother, Robert Murphy; sister, Joanne (Bill) Fenrich; youngest brother, Patrick (Anne) Murphy; nieces: Keeana Murphy, Brittney (Jimmie) Fowler, Lacey (Nick) Beaman; nephew, Alec (Katelyn) Fenrich; great nephews: Jimmie and Reggie Fowler; great niece, Murphie Beaman; along with his furry friends, Bretta Favre and Vanny boy.
Murph is not survived by just his family; he is survived by every single person who worked for him, played fast pitch, dartball, darts, golfed, bowled, and participated in sports with and by every single person who stepped into the other love of his life, Slades. If he called you bonehead or divot man, he loved you. Slades was his dream come true because of his sister Joanne. Slades was his lifeline to the hundreds of people whom he held close to his heart, and every single one reading this knows who you are. He loved celebrating birthdays, New Year’s, anything that could bring all his friends and family together.
Besides Slades, Murph loved boating. Nothing gave him more joy. We should have purchased a bigger boat for all the friends he would invite. The joy and look in his eyes when we were on the water was priceless.
Murph and I were soulmates and loved and played like we were still in our 20’s. We loved traveling to Vegas to try to win that “big one” but, our favorite place in the world was Key West. The friends we have on the island are like family and loved dearly.
And lastly, I am going to miss the most incredible man I have ever met. Our souls are entwined. We finished each other’s sentences and would always know what each other was going to say. I love you “Muffy” and can’t wait to meet you again in heaven. Keep chewing those straws and save me a seat at your new bar in heaven.
Your loving wife, Diane xoxoxo
