James R. Schneider

James “Jim” R. Schneider, age 82, of Oshkosh, passed away at Bethel Home Inc. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. He was born on March 29, 1940 in Oshkosh to the late Robert and Dorothy (Haffeman) Schneider. Jim married Suzanne “Sue” Sager on May 6, 1961 at Peace Lutheran Church.

Jim worked at Rockwell International for over 30 years. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Jim loved being out in the community volunteering at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home at King, as well as singing with the Winnebagoland Barbershop Chorus since 1987. He enjoyed traveling, visiting casinos with his family, watching birds, and spending time with his granddogs.

Jim is survived by his children: Todd (Lori) Schneider and Diane Schneider; granddogs: Baron, Cooper, Monkey and Silas; brother: Mike (Hyeon Hee) Schneider. He is further survived by in laws: William Sager and Carole (Kenley) Steinert, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Sue.

A memorial service for Jim will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Private inurnment will be held at Peace Lutheran Cemetery.

Jim’s family would like to express their gratitude to Aurora at Home Hospice, especially Lynn, for the wonderful care provided to Jim throughout the last month. Thank you to Jack Kyle, Jim and Cathy Tratz, Ron Hackbarth and Mike Schneider for sticking by Jim’s side until the end. A very special thank you to Carole and Kenley Steinert for their continued love and support for our family. Thank you to my sister, Diane, Dad and I appreciated everything you did over the last month to keep him in his home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established for Aurora at Home Hospice.
