James W Knackstedt, 78, of Oshkosh, Died on Monday, June 4, 2012 at his residence. He was born on February 13, 1934 in Chicago, IL a son of Robert and Violet (Busch) Knackstedt.James was a retired machinist, working at Mercury Marine for over 25 years and was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. He graduated from Wild Rose High School and enjoyed fishing with his family and loved tinkering with lawn mowers and going to rummage sales.Survivors include two daughters, Debra (Roger) Giddings of Winneconne, Vicki Walsh of Oshkosh; his son, James Knackstedt of Appleton; a brother George (Bunnie) Knackstedt of Illinois, a sister-in-law, Josephine Knackstedt; six grandchildren, James (Molly) Giddings, John (Melanie) Giddings, Paul (Lori) Giddings, Aaron Walsh, Erik Walsh (their father, Mike Walsh), Zachary Knackstedt; five great grandchildren, Aria, Griffin and Faith Giddings and Kain and Michael Walsh. He is further survived and much loved by his lifetime partner Correen Redlin and her family, Debra (William) Henschel, Gary (Bobbie) Henschel, Nicole (Greg) Brewer and their son, Tripp; James (Kerri) Redlin their children, Aaron, Elizabeth and Shaun Redlin; and the mother of his children, Valorie (Jake) Nechkash. Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Robert and Ronald Knackstedt and a sister, Jean Simon.Funeral services for James will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home - Westside, with the Rev. Chadwick Graham officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the service time. A memorial has been established to the Oshkosh Boys and Girls Club.
