Jane M. Heidl, O.P., age 89 of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023. She was born May 6, 1933, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Kellerman) Heidl.
In 1955 she entered The Dominican Mission Sisters in Chicago, IL, under Cardinal Stritch and was later assigned to The Catholic Charities under Fr. Brogan. Sister Theodore was assigned to an R.N. and worked under her for approximately six years as her office assistant. After leaving Community, Jane, SR Theodore worked at Mercy Hospital under SR Seraphin in the business office. In 1970, Jane took perpetual vows in the 3rd Order Dominican at The Cloister of Our Lady of the Rosary in Milwaukee. In 1973, Jane went into occupational therapy, and retired as the director of the occupation therapy department of Ripon Care.
Jane, SR Theodore was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, and belonged to the adoration prayer group. She enjoyed sketching still life, knitting, weaving on loom, and was an avid swimmer.
Survivors include sisters-in-law, Linda and Gloria Heidl, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Theodore and William Heidl.
A Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 19 2023 at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish-St. Mary site, 605 Merritt Ave with Fr. Jerome Pastors officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. Inurnment will be held in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
